“Uluslararası Hayvan Hakları Mahkemesi”

70’li yılların sonunda İsviçreli Franz Weber tarafından kuruldu. Genevre’de kiralık odalarda „duruşlar“ gerçekleştiren „mahkeme“, „Fondation Franz Weber“e ait özel bir teşebbüstür.

Miras ve bağışlarla finans edilmektedir. Hukuk açısından hiç bir ülke bu „mahkeme“nin kararların geçerliliğini tanımamaktadır. Kararlar genelde sadece internette açıklanır. Dava ve kararların amacı daha çok etik gösterişe yöneliktir.

Ancak, duruşları genelde çok sayıda uluslararası örgütler ve basından takip edildiği için bu konuda gerçekten ses getirmeyi başaran bir teşebbüstür.

The International Court of Justice for Animal Rights or ‘Animal Court’ is a moral and symbolic court. It has its headquarters in Geneva. It is an organ of the UNITED ANIMAL NATIONS – U.A.N., or ‘Animal UN’, an international organisation founded in 1979 by Franz Weber, based on the example of the United Nations Organisation. The U.A.N. has 120 member organisations over the whole world. The statutes of the Animal Court are part of the Charter of the United Animal Nations.

THE INTERNATIONAL COURT
OF JUSTICE FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS

The Animal Court, using public hearings as a platform, researches into serious transgressions against the animal world, especially those not covered by common law processes and calls the perpetrators morally to account, if necessary at ministry or government level. It consists of a president, two committee members and a jury of six to twelve persons chosen from the delegates of the attending animal protection organisations. Only lawfully constituted bodies can act as complainants before the Animal Court.
Proceedings supporting animal rights have taken place regularly over the past 22 years in the presence of the international press and with the participation of well-known legal representatives and experts. The results lead to concrete solutions, whether directly or indirectly.
